Two products from the brand that changed what a shade range means. Six creator-style films, every one written to a voice-over, and nine stills by the end of the afternoon, all of it on skin that was never retouched, with no creator, no vanity and no shoot. What Fotyra Studio delivers when the product is shine.
Fenty BeautyClothes are doing way too much. Body Lava sets the whole mood.

Two products and a brand built on being seen
Fenty Beauty launched in September 2017 with forty shades of foundation, and the beauty industry has not been the same since. Fenty was built with LVMH's Kendo on one idea, Beauty for All: that the customers other brands treated as an afterthought were the market, and that inclusion belonged in the product, not in the advertising. The launch did about seventy-two million dollars in its first month, TIME called the foundation one of the inventions of the year, and the competitors who widened their shade ranges afterwards gave the moment a name, the Fenty Effect. The brand talks the way its founder does: Gloss Bomb, poppin' shades, Hella Thicc, and a glossy, sensual, playful confidence that sells the finish before the formula.
That is why it is the sixth study, and the hardest kind of product so far. Kylie was a voice and Gymshark was a garment; Fenty is skin. A body luminizer and a lip gloss are sold on how light behaves on a real surface, and the brand's own rule forbids the retouched, poreless skin that most beauty advertising hides behind. A studio that renders shine from a product page either gets the texture right or gets caught. So the brief was two URLs, no creator, no vanity, no reference deck, and one afternoon. The gleam had to read as skin.
Brand first: what the studio reads from one URL
Fotyra always starts in the same order, whatever the brand: the brand, then every product, then, if you want one, a face. Pointed at fentybeauty.com, the e-commerce engine wrote a Brand DNA in eleven sections: an overview that read one company behind four brands, beauty, skin, hair and fragrance, selling direct and through retail; a positioning built on inclusion designed into the product rather than layered on as advertising; and a visual identity of black-and-white minimalism with playful color, luminous skin under clean studio light, and glossy, saturated beauty lighting for texture and shine. It read the mood as uplifting, the preferred formats as creator-led vertical demos, testimonials and swatches, and the environments as vanities, getting-ready spaces and warm, sunlit settings for body care. It also wrote down what to avoid: retouched skin, clinical language, and the generic stock smile. Every piece below inherits that reading.
Then the part a brand's own team rarely writes down. The audience: 18 to 34, culturally fluent and trend-aware, with deeper-toned shoppers historically ignored by the category as the audience the brand exists for. What they worry about: being unseen, and whether a product will perform on camera and across a long night. What triggers a purchase: a night out, a viral demonstration, a drop, and the frustration with another brand's range. The words to use, Beauty for All, perfect match, and the words to avoid, flawless perfection, hide your imperfections. And three competitors mapped in a shopper's head: Rare Beauty, Haus Labs and MAC. Four of the six films below are aimed at the night-out trigger by name.

Then every product page, at a depth a person would not bother with
Next, each of the two product pages into a Product DNA: Body Lava's gel texture, its sheer tint and light-diffusing micro-pearls, the floral vanilla scent the page promises, the rose-gold pump bottle and how it sits in a hand; the Gloss Bomb's universal shade, the shimmer that reads on every lip color, the XXL wand, and the scale of a small bottle against a face. For a luminizer the reading also fixes the rule every frame has to obey: the shine sits on real skin with its texture intact, and the product never turns into a different bottle mid-shot. A person could read two product pages this closely. Nobody does it at this speed, and then holds the exact gleam of the gel in mind through ten seconds of a pump and a sweep.
1:40 pm
Body Lava, the finishing step
The luminizer went first because it is the harder surface: a gel that has to read as light on skin rather than glitter sitting on top of it. The studio proposed five films for it, four of them the creator-style verticals the Brand DNA puts first, and the landscape one is the film at the top of this page, which comes back in full at the end. The first four verticals are the finishing-step testimonials: a night-out look that needs one more thing, and a sheen that reads before a word of the claim does. First, though, the one still with no copy on it at all, the cover of this study.

Sunlit Skin, Close
The glow is there before anything else is.
Some mornings the only thing worth reaching for first is the glow. Sun through a balcony door, a white shirt still open, and the bottle held up under the chin, the sheen already sitting on her cheekbones and collarbones the way sunlight does, with the texture of her skin left intact. The one Body Lava still with no headline on it, a logo-only wide for the site and the banner, and the cover of this study.

Just Light Catching
Not glittery. Just light catching.
The night-out look is finished and something is still missing. Not sparkle, which reads as effort, but light: a pump into the palm in a loft at golden hour and one sweep across the collarbones that the sunset finishes for her. A 16-second creator-style Fenty Beauty ad for Body Lava Body Luminizer, the finishing-step testimonial, ending the way the format asks, with a link.
Voice-overMy night-out look needs one more thing. Body Lava lives right here. I don't want loud sparkle tonight. Not glittery, just light catching. Okay, I'll link it.

The Sovereign Shimmer
Watch this catch light. One pass, and it gleams.
Ten seconds is long enough to prove one thing, so this proves the sheen. Bottle up to the lens in a ribbed-panel studio, one pass down a bare shoulder, and the rose gold reads before a word of the claim does. A 10-second creator-style Fenty Beauty ad for Body Lava Body Luminizer, the short cut of the pair, built to stop the scroll on shine alone.
Voice-overWatch this catch light. One pass, and it gleams. Rose gold sheen, right there. Body Lava, all lit.

Warm Light on Skin
Warm light on skin.
A sunlit terrace, the bottle in one hand and the other hand at the collarbone, the headline and the button on the image: the gel glides over shoulders and collarbones with a silky, sun-soaked sheen. The Body Lava headline ad for a cold audience, in the warm, vacation-lit register the Brand DNA prefers for body care.

Cool Gel, Hot Shoulders
Cool gel. Hot shoulders.
Blue studio, pink light, a swatch of the gel on the shoulder and the bottle in hand: sheer tint and light-diffusing pearls catch every flash. The loud still, in the saturated color field the reading lists among the brand's environments, with the product claim on the image.

The same brief, directed twice
This is the part of the afternoon worth slowing down for. The Glow Liberation was one brief, bare shoulders and a sunlit vanity, and the studio was asked for it twice. The first take is framed wide with the gel pressed into the palm; the second is tighter from the first frame, straight from the pump onto the fingertips, the sweep caught from the front so the sheen turns as she does, and the script trimmed by a beat. Same product, same feeling, two readings, and the brand keeps whichever one is truer. That is what asking for a change looks like when the change takes minutes rather than a reshoot.

The Glow Liberation
My shoulders needed drama.
Bare shoulders are a decision, and this is the ten seconds after making it. Press once into the palm at a sunlit vanity, sweep, and the light does the rest: not a shimmer sitting on the skin but a glow that seems to come from under it. A 10-second creator-style Fenty Beauty ad for Body Lava Body Luminizer, the first of two reads of one brief, this one framed wide and dispensed into the palm.
Voice-overMy shoulders desperately needed drama. Press once, then sweep it on. Look at that light-diffusing glow. Let Body Lava shine.

The Glow Liberation, Take Two
Same brief, second read: closer, and straight from the pump.
Same brief, same bathroom, same satin, and the studio's second read of it. Tighter from the first frame, the luminizer pressed straight onto the fingertips instead of into the palm, the sweep caught from the front so the sheen turns as she does, and a script trimmed by a beat. Ten seconds of Fenty Beauty Body Lava to watch beside the first take, for what changes when only the direction does.
Voice-overMy shoulders needed drama. Press, then sweep it on. See that light-diffusing glow? Body Lava, let it shine.
Take one, then take two. Press either to watch with sound.
And as stills, in three lights
Three headline ads for the luminizer in the three environments the reading lists for body care: a balcony doorway in the sun, a wood-paneled room just before the night begins, and the bottle held close in a cardigan and a slip. Each one carries its copy and its button, so it runs on the feed with the sound off and no caption.

Warm Light, Slick Shoulders
Warm light, slick shoulders.
A balcony doorway, a black slip, the gel swept onto the shoulder in sun: the smooth gel gives skin a sheer tint and dewy shine. The everyday version of the Body Lava story, at home, for the practical shopper the reading calls out.

Just Before the Night Begins
Just before the night begins.
A pout at the lens over a tray with the bottle on it, warm wood behind, the line in a serif and the button below: a smooth gel finish leaves shoulders catching the light. The getting-ready still, made for the night-out trigger the reading names.
Still · Body Lava Body Luminizer · 9:16
Just Between Us
A little floral vanilla, a lot of skin-catching shine.
The bottle held to the cheek in a knit cardigan and satin slip, the headline at the bottom and the scent in the subhead. The intimate still of the set, made to the brand's sensory register: the product as something you keep close rather than show off.

Gloss Bomb, the last step before the door
The gloss is the product the brand launched with, and the one every shopper already knows, so the studio sold it on the moment rather than the formula: the last step before walking out. Three campaign wides in the brand's high-contrast studio register, each with the line and the button on the image, and one creator-style vertical. The warmest of the wides opens the chapter; the hardest-lit of them, the pout beside the bottle, closes it.

Before You Walk Out
Before you walk out.
A cardigan, a marble console, the wand at the lips in warm afternoon light, and the line with its button: touch up now. The last-step-before-the-door still, the whole Fenty argument in one frame: glow, ease, and somewhere to be.
Before you walk out. Touch up now. Press it to see it full size.
Then the film: a black halter dress, a marble vanity, and the wand drawn across the lips slowly enough to watch the shine land. Beside it, the application wide, straight to camera, for the color payoff every gloss shopper checks.
You hear it before you see it: the small click of the cap coming off, then a hush while the wand lifts out, and a voice close enough to the mic that the room goes quiet around it. A black halter dress against a black marble vanity, cool stone under her palms, one warm lamp finding the wet edge of the gloss. Then the wand, drawn across the lips slowly enough to feel the drag of the gel and watch the shine settle, the light sliding on the surface as she turns her head. The only Gloss Bomb film of the afternoon sells touch and sound as much as color: the cool of the vanity, the tack of the gloss, the near-silence, the XXL wand doing its one job, and a last line that asks for a save rather than a sale.
Voice-overNight-out lips, I take my time. One swipe does the talking. Gloss Bomb XXL wand, big shine. Save that shine.

Pink Light on Your Lips
Pink light on your lips.
The wand at the lip, straight to camera, on grey, with the line in pink and the button black: make it glossy. The application wide, the frame every gloss ad needs and the one the shopper checks for the color payoff.

Gloss That Gets Noticed
Gloss that gets noticed.
A pout beside the bottle in hard studio light, a black blazer, the headline in the brand's pink and one outlined button: make it a moment. The Gloss Bomb campaign wide for the site and the banner, in the high-contrast studio register the reading calls the brand's own.

Fifteen pieces of finished creative on real skin texture, from two product pages and no shoot, in a single afternoon session of a few hours. Every film was written to a voice-over in the creator-native voice the Brand DNA puts first, five verticals for TikTok and Reels and one landscape for the site, and every still but the cover carries its own headline and button. A production company would need two creators, a vanity, a terrace, a balcony and a studio, and two weeks.
Shine on skin, not over it. The gel reads as light with the texture intact, because the reading fixed the rule the brand itself sets: no retouched, poreless skin.
Built to the audience list. Four films are night-out testimonials because the reading listed the night out as the trigger, and the casting changes with nearly every piece because narrow casting is the one thing this brand cannot do.
Format-native, not resized. Verticals for the feed, wides for the site and the banner, stills with the copy already on for the sound-off scroll.
A place to say no. The Glow Liberation shows what a second take costs, minutes. Every piece is read as a concept board before it renders, and every one can be sent back with a note.
If this were a real engagement, the afternoon would end differently. The brand's team would approve or reject each piece in the Creative Library, pick the take of the Glow Liberation it believes, resize the stills for every placement, and have the lot in a shared folder by the evening. That part of the studio is already built; it is what the help center documents, step by step.
And the film that opened the page, in full: clothes are doing way too much, and Body Lava sets the whole mood.

The Whole Mood
Clothes are doing way too much. Body Lava sets the whole mood.
A dressing rail of black outfits behind her, none of them chosen, and a pump of Body Lava pressed into the shoulder instead. The one landscape film of the set, shot in a studio the brand would recognize: dark, controlled, one warm gleam. Ten creator-style seconds that make the case the brand makes for the product, that a night-out look can be finished on the skin rather than in the wardrobe, and end the way the format asks, with a link.
